On September 8, 1947 in Havana, Florida, Lillie Mae Kelly Simmons was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Allen (Nuke) and Lucille Kelly, who taught her the value of hard work and love of family. Mae, as she was lovingly known, was always prepared for her seat in God's Kingdom. She voiced that she was going HOME, and on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, she was rewarded with her flight ticket HOME

For those that loved her and are grieving for her loss, we choose to believe she is at peace waiting for the day when these will join her again: one son, Dexter "Pookie" Simmons, Havana, Fl; one daughter, Casheba Cannon, Norfolk, Va; four sonsin- love, Kelvin Cannon (Cynthia), Keith Cannon, Kennedy Cannon, and Kenneth Cannon all of Norfolk, Va; granddaughter Ashtiegn Jones, great-grand daughter Destiny Simmons; siblings: Bertha Montgomery, Eva Hendley (Stevie) Annandale, Va, Lucy Brown (Gerome, Sr.) Tallahassee, Cathy Kelly Holmes (Franklin) & Roy Kelly, Havana, and a brother-in-love Theodore Montgomery (Syracuse, NY); uncles: John Kelly of Sanford, Fl; Lonnie Kelly of Havana; aunt: Sarah Witherspoon of Jessup, Ga; a loving God-daughter Beverly McGriff. A TIME OF PEACE: During her final years, Mae had a happy zeal for life. She loved her family, friends, and she loved God.
