Our Queen, Henrietta Thompson was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and more. She loved everybody! Henrietta left this world on July 7, 2024, at the golden age of 98.

A life full of love and family.
She was born to Solomon and Mary Hinson on December 22, 1925, in Live Oak, Florida. After graduating from Douglass High School in 1944 she went on to attend Bethune-Cookman College where she graduated with honors and a bachelor's degree. Henrietta married her true love, Birthel "Chum" Thompson, Sr. (deceased) they celebrated many years of love and family. Together they raised 6 children and
opened their home and hearts to everyone.

Our mother spent a lot of her time in the kitchen, making delicious meals, cakes, pies and the best homemade biscuits in the south. Other favorite past times include sewing, taking care of her home, enjoying time with her grandchildren and attending sporting events with her son.
Henrietta committed her life to Jesus Christ at an early age. A dedicated member of Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church, she loved God and her church. She served as a Sunday school teacher, church secretary, choir member, pastor's aide, and coordinated many church events. She was always a willing hand and heart.

A strong pillar in the community mother was active in her sorority, the Social Sewing Club, a Heroine of Jericho, and an Eastern Star. Accomplished and caring, her career began as a teacher in the Suwannee County Schools, and onto the Suwannee River Economic Council where she provided education, resources and support to children and families in Live Oak and neighboring Counties.

Sweet and kind, she will forever be remembered for the love she showered on everyone and her beautiful smile.

Her Children
She shared her joy for life with her children, Bertha M. McOgg (deceased), Berthel (Deloris) Thompson, Jr, Earl Thompson (deceased), Francine (Irving) Philpot Scott, Jerome Thomas (deceased), Anthony S. Thompson and Eugene Mitchell (Stepson).

Her Grands
Henrietta was a haven for her grandchildren, Carla (Jason) Wilson, Corinthia Thompson Caroll, Bertha Thompson, Antyonette Thomas, Keyarna Thomas, Edward Thompson, Antwan Thomas, Trevor (Shana) Scott, Jaris (Samantha) Scott. And a host of Great and Great-Great Grandchildren that she loved and cherished.

Her God Children
Endearing and loving, she called them her twins, Marlon Ivey and Arlene (Kenneth) Ivey-Smith.

Her Close Family
She maintained an unbreakable bond with family members. She is remembered by her cousin Milton (Diane) Flemming, St. Petersburg. Siblings (by Marriage) Lucille Thompson Mills, Live Oak; Inez Thompson Pinkney Rowe, Miami; Susie (Sam) Thompson Butler, Orlando; Reverand Clyde (Sandra) Thompson, Tampa, Deacon McKinley (Carolyn) Thompson, Tampa; Catherine Thompson, Live Oak, Other loved ones in the Cobbs, Hinsons, Wards, Wades families.
